Used Surfboards in Portland, Orgeon

Second Hand Boards provides the ultimate free online solution for buying and selling used snowboards in Portland, Oregon.

On a clear day, Mount Hood towers over Portland reminding you that you’re never too far away from the slopes. This stratovolcano of the Cascade Mountain Range is the highest peak in Oregon and with an average annual snowfall of 450 inches, you’re guaranteed plenty of powder days.

There are three main resorts in Mount Hood, each offering its own unique experience for all snowboard ability levels.

Located at the 6,000-foot level, the most scenic of the three is the Timberline Ski Resort, the home of the historic Timberline lodge build in 1936. It offers nearly 1,500 acres of runs and terrain parks and has the longest season in North America with its Palmer lift at 8,500 feet operating into the Summer months.

The closest ski resort to Portland is Skibowl which features the largest advanced terrain in Mount Hood, and is a favorite among local riders. It offers 65 trails across 960 acres, with more than half of its slopes lip up at night making it the largest night ski area in the country.

Located on Mount Hood’s southeast side lies the largest and the most popular resort Mt. Hood Meadows. The southeast exposure allows for more wind protected, sunny days. That’s just one of its draws. Meadows also offers the most diverse terrain with 85 runs for all ability levels    sprawled across 2,150 acres. Whether you’re entirely into freeriding among tree-lined and open terrain or prefer hanging in the parks learning new tricks, Meadows has it all.

With a very long and heavy snowfall season, Mount Hood is ideal for off-piste powder riding.  Snowboarders will either ride an all mountain or freeride snowboards under these conditions, and freestyle boards in the park which are well groomed even in the early season.

Whether you are just getting into snowboarding and are looking to buy your very first snowboard, or want to add to your collection, consider buying a used snowboard through our site. It’s a much cheaper option and the best part is that snowboards hold their value and can be resold again for very little loss, especially when buying and selling popular brands such as Ride, K2, or Burton.
